The gallery scene in Chelsea this month is utterly dismal. If you want to see truly bad art at blue-chip galleries, this is the time to go. Sonnabend is the worst. Even Lalanne's sheep at the Getty Station on 10th Avenue have moved on. The only highlights are Richard Serra at Gagosian, Hans Hofmann at Ameringer/McEnery/Yohe, and one Sean Scully painting,
Landline Pink, at Cheim & Read. Skip the rest. Come back next year.
